Field of work: lit­er­ary trans­la­tions and some­times – trans­la­tions of vari­ous doc­u­ments for dif­fer­ent trans­la­tion agen­cies and con­sec­ut­ive trans­la­tions

Short bio­graphy: I’m born in Bur­gas (1966), where I gradu­ated Eng­lish Lan­guage School “G. Milev”. I gradu­ated uni­ver­sity “Sv. Cl. Ohrid­ski”, Depart­ment of Slavon­ic lan­guages, Serbo-Croatian philo­logy. I worked as a teach­er of Ser­bi­an lan­guage at the Mil­it­ary School in Veliko Tar­novo, the Uni­ver­sit­ies in Plov­div and Sofia and the Mil­it­ary Academy in Sofia. I’m occu­pied with lit­er­ary trans­la­tions since 1994 and I’m cur­rently a freel­ance trans­lat­or.

Brief bio­graphy: Rou­mi­ana L. Stantche­va is a Uni­ver­sity Pro­fess­or, Dr. Sc., at Sofia Uni­ver­sity “St. Kli­ment Ohrid­ski”. She is the author of mono­graphs on Com­par­at­ive Lit­er­at­ure; founder of the Aca­dem­ic Circle for Com­par­at­ive Lit­er­at­ure and its first pres­id­ent (2001–2011); mem­ber of the Sci­entif­ic Coun­cil of the Soci­ety for Stud­ies on the The­ory and Prac­tice of Trans­la­tion (SEPTET), Stras­bourg; mem­ber of the board of the Bul­gari­an Trans­lat­ors’ Uni­on. More here and here.

Short bio­graphy: Born en 1946 in Sofia, has gradu­ated from an Eng­lish Lan­guage High School (1964) and from the French philo­logy Depart­ment at Sofia Uni­ver­sity (1972).  More than 50 books trans­lated of Balzac, Maupassant, Flaubert, Céline, Albert Cohen, San Ant­o­nio, Jean Jeun­et, Kun­dera, Cior­an and many oth­ers.

Author of three books: Of dip­lo­mats and Men (1998), Domest­ic apo­ca­lypse (2000), So much for Scot­tie (2010).
