In 1990 she obtained a&nbsp;degree in Ger\u00adman Philo\u00adlogy from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsity of Sofia \u201cSt. Kli\u00adment Ohrid\u00adski\u201d and com\u00adpleted spe\u00adcial\u00adiz\u00ada\u00adtions at Hum\u00adboldt Uni\u00adver\u00adsity (1987\u20131988), Ber\u00adlin and the European Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Viad\u00adrina Frank\u00adfurt (Oder) (2016). She received her Ph.D. degree from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsity of Sofia in 2017. Her first Bul\u00adgari\u00adan trans\u00adla\u00adtions (Rudolf Arnheim\u2019s \u201cCinema as Art\u201d and \u201cFrom Cal\u00adigari to Hitler\u201d by Siegfried Kra\u00adcauer) were pub\u00adlished while she was still study\u00ading Ger\u00adman philo\u00adlogy. As a&nbsp;trans\u00adlat\u00ador, she is mainly inter\u00adested in film and lit\u00ader\u00adary trans\u00adla\u00adtion with a&nbsp;focus on the lit\u00ader\u00adat\u00adure of the early 20<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> cen\u00adtury (Franz Kafka, Robert Walser, Josef Roth) and mod\u00adern Ger\u00adman lit\u00ader\u00adat\u00adure (Iliya Troy\u00adan\u00adov, Dim\u00adit\u00adar Dinev, Clem\u00adens J. Setz, Mari\u00adon Post\u00adman, Michael Kump\u00adfm\u00fcller, Sasa Stan\u00adis\u00adic). Along with her trans\u00adla\u00adtion work, she is also act\u00adive as a&nbsp;film crit\u00adic and journ\u00adal\u00adist. Ger\u00adgana Fyrkova has been teach\u00ading Ger\u00adman lan\u00adguage and Busi\u00adness com\u00admu\u00adnic\u00ada\u00adtion at the Fac\u00adulty of Clas\u00adsic\u00adal and Mod\u00adern Philo\u00adlogy at the Uni\u00adver\u00adsity of Sofia \u201cSt. Kli\u00adment Ohrid\u00adski\u201d since 1994.
